THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA's

The Women's Studies Student Organization is dedicated to progressive activism and building feminist solidarity in the UGA and Athens communities. We aim to create change by partnering with other organizations to host educational and advocacy events, providing an inclusive atmosphere for dialogue on social issues, and mobilizing against sites of injustice in our community.

Some topics we hope to discuss this year include but are by no means limited to: reproductive justice, domestic/sexual violence, intersectionality, economic justice, the public sector, ecofeminism, LGBTQI issues, women's diverse experiences, and feminist art.

You do not need to be a Women's Studies student or identify as female to participate in WSSO! Our events are a space for people of all gender identities / expressions, racial and ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations, income levels, sexual orientations, ages, and abilities/disabilities.
